UPDATE – JULY 1, 2014
Our sincere thanks to those able to contribute to the fabulous attendance at the Icehouse for Saturday’s clash between the Melbourne Ice & Sydney Bears.
Despite a 3-1 loss to Sydney, spirits were still high to make the teddies fly!
Be sure to watch from the 47:00 minute mark, see the Melbourne Ice score and the fans support Very Special Kids in a truly unique way.
Canada Day Classic 2014 – Teddy Bear Toss for Very Special Kids
Happy Canada Day!
As some of you know, VERY SPECIAL KIDS is an organisation that has come to mean a great deal to me and my family over the past year.
They provide total family care when, as in our case, the unthinkable happens.
When a child faces a life-threatening condition, VSK supports parents, siblings, extended family and most importantly the affected child and ensures that the person (not the problem) remains at the centre of care.
The CANADA CLUB OF VICTORIA has partnered with Very Special Kids at this year’s CANADA DAY CLASSIC ice hockey game where spectators have the opportunity to learn more and support this incredibly important organisation.
I have been humbled to be asked to say a few words to introduce VSK and drop the puck at the ceremonial face-off before the game.
What an absolute honour!
So why not ‘get your skates on’ and come support this very worthy cause.
Watch the Melbourne Ice take on the Sydney Bears and dig deep for Very Special Kids.
When: Saturday June 28th, 2014
Game Start: 5:00 PM
Where: Medibank Icehouse Melbourne, Australia
